215. Deep dive into pattern matching with LIKE

In the beginning of the course we’ve briefly talked about the LIKE operator. It allows us to filter records by matching a simple text pattern. For example, we used it to count all users from a specific Internet domain:

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM users WHERE email LIKE '%@boogle.%' 

🔍 The % symbol is the wildcard symbol – it matches any text or no text at all. % allows us to create smarter filters: we can specify the position of our search term (@boogle. in the example above ☝).
