Welcome to SQL Habit Backyard
This chapter contains many SQL features or rare Data Analysis tricks (here by “rare” I mean used once a year).
Even as a native speaker of your language, you still use just a fraction of your vocabulary at work. Stupendous, isn’t it?
Same goes for SQL – in the previous chapters you’ve learned the vocabulary needed to answer pretty much any question with data. There’s still a bunch of SQL features that might simplify your research or inspire a new analysis.
This chapter covers a couple of features we haven’t used in the course – FULL OUTER JOIN
and set operations. By now I’m sure you’ll get set theory in 10 minutes.
The rest of the chapter contains SQL functions index. I’d recommend go over them once to check if they’re still fresh in your head.
That’s it, the last SQL Habit’s chapter. Have you seen SQL Habit Blog? Anyways, it’s been a wild ride, so glad you stuck till the end! Definitely shoot me a message and say how did you like it!
Hi, it’s Anatoli, the author of SQL Habit.
SQL Habit is a course (or, as some of the students say, “business simulator”). It’s based on a story of a fictional startup called Bindle. You’ll play a role of their Data Analyst and solve real-life challenges from Business, Marketing, and Product Management.
SQL Habit course is made of 13 chapters (you’re looking at one atm) that contain 273 bite-sized lessons and exercises. All of them have a real-life setting and detailed explanations. You can immediately apply everything you’ve learned at work.
The 2nd part of the course is called Practice. It’s made of standalone exercises based on multiple datasets – E-commerce, Finance and Meditation app a-la Headspace or Calm. Practice exercises are harder than in the main course. They’ll get you ready for any challenge at work or an interview.
